CodeRED Mobile Alert App revisa

Just not good at all

This app is really bad. I get alerts for areas nowhere near me even though I have the distance set at less than 25 miles. Also shows a number of active alerts but there is no way to actually see them. Needs serious improvements to be useful.

Disappointed

This app is useless. It’s currently telling me that I have no active alerts in my area, which is false. I’m currently under a tornado, a flood, warning, and a severe thunderstorm warning. I got an alert to check the app 40 minutes after a warning was issued for my area. The radar is not showing on the map. It says there are 131 active alert alerts, but you can’t click on it. Honestly, what is the point?

Bad app

I just downloaded this app because our county is in a state of emergency due to wildfires. The app states that there are three alerts in the area, but it doesn’t tell you what they are and you can’t open it up. And then when I click on my location, it says “ No alert alerts in your area”. I gave the app my contact information so now I feel like my information has been sold for no reason. I’m going to delete this app.

Well this doesn’t work

I get zero alerts. Please make this better on iPhones

Alerts

The app says I now have 391 alerts! I can’t get the alerts to show up. This app is a WASTE OF MY TIME!

How do I use this thing?!?

I set my alert radius to 12 miles from my location. I forget I have the app installed. Time passes Today I get a loud alert for 2 alerts near me. Oh no! What is it??? I open the app & there’s nothing on the map. The top says there are 59 alerts (?!?! What happened to the 2) but cannot find a list or any visual clue of what the issue is. Finally I zoom out on the map & see alerts in Texas, Florida, Idaho, Virginia, etc, that add up to 59. Cool. But I’m in California!! What were the 2 alerts that it sent me an audio alert for? No clue. Why am I being notified of things thousands of miles away? Also no clue.

It really is bad

I thought the reviews were exaggerated but they are not. The UX in this app is terrible. Why are you showing an active alerts number but there's nothing in my area? I can't even click anywhere to see what those alerts are. Also, despite creating an OnSolve account on the web for my county and city updates, that logging doesn't seem to work in the app. I'm not creating another account for a system I already signed up for. General navigation and screenshots feel very outdated and cheaply done. Overall this entire app needs to be pulled and rebuilt from scratch. Hire out some user experience people while you're at it.

Worthless

My whole area is currently on fire! Not a single alert! Evacuations are in progress. It’s on local and national news. This application is worthless. No alerts, nothing but a red dot on a map. Aircraft dropping liquids on the fire and this junk shows nothing!!! So far 12,000 acres have burned. Deleted this garbage.

Not really good

App barely functions. Always says there’s alerts. Upon opening the app there’s no alerts to be seen. I click refresh and still nothing. I click near me and nothing. Nada. Zilch. Have had this app two years now for work related updates. It’s just a poorly functioned app that seems to not get improvements. Someone gave it their best shot at making an app and ghosted us on updates.

Can’t see the alerts

It tells me there are 82 alerts but I can’t see them. Also it tells me there are none near me, but I received a phone all and email this morning regarding a code red.

Useless

There’s fires around in 3 directions, one of them at 10miles. The app map says there are 170 alerts but there’s no information about any, even with alert distance set to 25 miles.

This app is trash

I downloaded this app as my county recommended, made an account, and…I don’t get it. I have some alerts turned on, it tells me there are 4 alerts in my area. I can’t see what they are, I can’t read anything, there are no messages that will appear. Cool there are some alerts that exist but no way of knowing what they are, what is the point of this worthless app?

Not with the memory space on my phone

Great concept. Horrible application. Getting alerts from over 300 miles away. Checked settings a dozen times and everything looks fine to only alert based on my location. So frustrated that I deleted the app.

This app is a joke

My county uses this app to notify us of emergencies and it doesn’t work. We had a tornado last year in Valley View Texas and this app failed to notify us. People died because they had no time to react. I’ve tried and tried with this app on android and iPhone, even on an iPad. I can’t get it to work at all. It’s dangerous to rely on and the developers should be held accountable for its failure.

Doesn’t work

I really want to see the alerts that it says are there, but it won’t let me. And I checked for updates (there weren’t any) and uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still doesn’t work. :(

Horrible app

This is a great concept but the implementation is horrible. No matter what I do with the settings I just get the same number of alerts and cannot see them. Just a poorly written app

Horrible App

I’ll see a notification of an alert, open the app and there’s no way to see what the alert is. Why can’t it be as simple as opening g the app and seeing a list of any current alerts and clicking them for more info. The government’s using this are wasting money.

Disappointed - constant performance issues with app

I paid for this app and the recommendation of our l local emergency management. I’ve had the app for 2-3 years now. We got some significant storms coming to my area over the next few days due to hurricane (I’m in GA). Now I’m worried this app isn’t going to be enough. It’s takes serval mojos for the map to load. I have all my settings checked and double checked, so no reason why this app never works provided. I’ve had to get another app (that was actually free) and it out performs this one by 10. I’ve gotten a new phone, been in perfect service, on WiFi and no matter any of that, this is is insufficient. Makes me question why this app is so highly recommended when by reading the reviews, I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. The only thing that seems to work 50 % of the time Is the phone calls. Save money and get an app that actually works as agreed.

Fu….k HORRIBLE

Narrowed it down to 1 mile radius and still getting every notification from over 200 miles away. Ridiculous.

App should work perfectly for a public safety app

Alerts come through, but even though there is an Inbox that shows 35 active alerts, you can only see the latest one. This is not acceptable, when evacuation zones are constantly being updated. For example we have 11 zones, and over last few days different zones went into different statuses, but we can no longer see any prior messages, once a new one comes out. Each message does not give all zone information, only a zone that has changed. For a public safety app, it’s efficacy is shameful.

No way to change location after move

I don’t care what weather my old house is getting. No way to change location alerts and can’t find anyone to help

Useful location based alerts, not a replacement for signing up local

I’ve seen lots of reviews complaining about the fact that sign up for this app is separate from city or county services. This app is a different service than what you get from signing up with your local authority. You can sign up for an account in the app, but it’s not necessary to receive location-based alerts. Paid subscriptions are only required to receive the severe weather alerts, and there’s lots of other sources for those. This app uses your current GPS location, wherever you are, to notify you of alerts that have been sent in the area. Not every jurisdiction uses the CodeRED system, so it won’t necessarily pick up alerts from anywhere you happen to be. However, if you are in an area in the United States that uses CodeRED, this app should send you a notification. Don’t just rely solely on this app! Signing up for your local county alert system will enable the delivery of text messages to your phone, which is also important if you may be traveling or otherwise not at your home when an alert is sent.

This app is terrible and will kill your grandma.

I know how to use a phone and a computer, I understand settings and how to set it up so important/specific notifications come through. We have had evacuations and fires in the last month so this real life use: How anyone could use this app during an emergency is beyond me. It’s frustrating, and basically useless to anyone who needs an ounce of help with technology. It lags, it constantly sends alerts with no way to mute or change the sound settings. ALL ALERTS BEING THE SAME MEANS NO ALERTS ACTUALLY MATTER. The negligence in making this app a PUBLIC SERVICE is almost criminal and I can’t believe they haven’t already been taken to court. DELETE IT and use any other means to get your evacuation info. Use Watch Duty or the emergency notification system built into your phone because this app will make a terrible situation worse.

Garbage, doesn’t work, bad UI

Simply doesn’t work. There’s a wildfire in my city and this app just won’t show it. Useless.

Garbage - late notices

Warnings come late, after the built in Apple weather app, the local emergency alerts (like Amber alerts) and the interface is terrible. Really sad.

Junk

Don’t waist your time. It makes noise but never posts the alert. Absolute trash.

Ridiculous

There are three active wild fires in Colorado right now. One is pretty close to where I live. When I walk outside, it smells like burning wood. I’d like to be able to get an evacuation notice, so I could save mine and my dogs life. It is one in the morning and I have wasted over an hour of my life playing with these websites and apps for something that has no intention of making me any safer or aware of risks. The app does not work. It tells you that there are alerts in your area, but gives exactly zero description of what those alerts are. Is one of the six alerts I have “hey by the way your house is about to burn down”? I don’t get to know, apparently. And that’s not even touching on the nightmare that was creating an account. This needs to be fixed immediately. It’s important. It shouldn’t be this broken.

Requires location???

Why can’t I just tell the app what area I care about?

Worse app ever

This app is awful. I have not been able to log in or receive customer support since day one. Don’t waste your time downloading it.

Doesn’t Work

We have a water outage going on. App says I have 5 alerts but will NOT let me see them. App is worthless. City need to get a better system to use

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. MAJOR UPGRADE NEEDED.

This app needs A MAJOR UPGRADE. App won’t sign in with correct info. The images are oversized and look distorted. They expect us to use this for emergencies but it seriously looks like it hasn’t been updated since iOS 5.

Garbage

So it says I have 593 active alerts… but yet there's no alerts near me ever… Don't think so

Doesn’t work for alerts other than community ones

Not sure what happened to this app but for several months now the alerts does not work for me other than the “community” alerts. Since I live in the middle of the tornado belt it’s troubling. I noticed this when I changed phones but I’m really not sure what’s going on. I still get my boil orders which is why it stays in my phone, but I confirmed today (and a few other times) I am not getting severe thunderstorms warnings. I also know that my community is still on the system to process these warnings as other apps (Red Cross, Weather Channel, etc) work.

Doesn’t work

Sioux City needs to take this off their recommendations list.

Should be 0 stars

Terrible!! Doesn’t even work!!

Doesn’t work

Simple review - it just doesn’t work! Nothing about it works.

Dont work

Definitely listen to the other comments, especially the one from a year ago (currently) everything they said is truer My county posted on FB to register for alerts so i did, after the registration (which was also annoying, kept saying i needed a 10 digit number when it was a 10 digit number, had to refresh so many times) anyways, after registering online it said to use the app, which didn’t work. i had to register AGAIN. All to find out it does nothing and shows absolutely nothing. says 293 active alerts yet shows none. Also won’t let you click the message icon to view the alerts. Waste of time.

Can’t even CREATE an account

I keep getting a message to contact Tech support if having trouble creating account. I downloaded and cannot get in. I then try the website and it’s not letting me do anything at all.

Annoying & frustrating

There’s no vibrate only option. Can’t see alerts unless they are selected and they all come with loud alarms for all hours of the night. So don’t expect to get undisturbed sleep. Every time you go to a menu option a pop up to turn on your location services pops up.

Bugged

I keep having this problem where active alerts do not show up and I can’t see them or click on the alerts please fix this I haven’t been able to see these alerts for months now

Slow as H3LL!

Slow as H3LL! I’ve tried to remove and reload. This app will sit and spin for several minutes after receiving an alert. If i can find something else, I’ll move on.

App doesn’t work with full screen phone

My phone screen is the whole glass area. The app extends into that region and buttons like the back or play button are non-functioning so I have to constantly exit the entire app to go back to previous notifications. There a wide gap between too much information (641 current notices) and not enough (too slow to find the ones in my area. Because I can’t go back, if there are more than one notification, I waste time exiting the app and going back in to see the other notices.

Horrible user interface

The alerts work well enough and I’ve never been prompted to pay anything. But when you open the app it’s a pretty miserable experience. Button targets are either much too small or partially obscured but other elements so they’re very hard to press. Or maybe the app is just pathetically slow. It’s hard to know since moat buttons do not have borders defining their region and they do not have separate textures for pressed and unpressed states. So I just keep spamming the back button and the font size buttons until either something happens or I give up. Btw the back button in the upper left is in the same position as the OS “back to prior app” Button, which takes precedence. So if you are in App A, get alert and tap the alert to open code red, code red’s back button is completely nonfunctional. Any attempt to tap it instead triggers the OS button taking you back to App A. The main page may say something like “1234 alerts” but the local page may have none in your area. If you tap the local button anyway there’s a message on the screen that you can’t read because they place a spinner directly in front of it. When there’s no local alerts that spinner never goes away. Either the app gets stuck in a perpetual loop looking for local alerts or (imo more likely) the dev forgot to dismiss the spinner when the query returns no alerts. Overall the UI is either slow, unresponsive or the button targets are too small but it’s impossible to discern which since the buttons are not properly implemented with borders and different textures for different states. And UI elements like the back button and spinners obscure/are obscured by other on screen elements.

This app doesn’t care about its user

Trash pickup delay notification produced Amber Alert like sound. Poor logic and sloppy application.

Terrible App

Alerts do not load. And are impossible to open. Worthless!

Pathetic

I agree with all the other one star ratings….enough said 😒

Worthless app

The app doesn’t load the radar, it doesn’t allow you to customize anything, every once in a while your phone will alert that you have weather warnings but it doesn’t let you see the warnings, it doesn’t voice any warnings, and nothing shows on the radar. I’ll stick to the MyRadar app and Fox Weather. Both far superior to this one…

Every First Monday

Every first Monday I get alerted for the test of local tsunami warning sirens. It would be great if it didn’t continue to go off every minute no matter what I do till the event expires. Annoying as F*.

Unusable on iPhone 14 Pro Max

The UI spills into the top and bottom of the screen so you cannot actually navigate between alerts to see what the danger is. Terrible user interface! I would hate to have to rely on this in an actual emergency!
